Alphonsa Cashew Industries received its Halal certification from Halal India, one of India’s most discerning organisations dedicated to upholding halal practices.
Halal India is accredited by Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia - JAKIM), Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura -MUIS), and The Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries - SMIIC.
“There is an increasing demand for Halal-certified cashew across the globe, more prominently in Muslim dominated countries. At Alphonsa, we are committed to responding to the needs of Muslim populations with cashew kernels certified pure in accordance with Islamic Law,” said Ebin Babu Oommen, Director of Alphonsa Cashew Industries.
Prior to the certification, the auditor inspected Alphonsa’s facilities, reviewed raw materials, and observed the complete production process, before confirming that the cashew kernels and the plant’s practices are Halal-compliant and adhere to Islamic dietary laws.
Halal products are sourced and manufactured with ingredients that are permissible under Islamic law. Along the entire value chain, strict guidelines for raw material purchasing, manufacturing, packing, warehousing, and transport are followed to ensure product purity in compliance with religious prescriptions.
